Design Project

I’m doing a project on “Time” for my Design class.  We have to tell a story about something that happens over time.  I decided to tell the story about my grandfather who was left in an orphanage at 5 months old with nothing, but now he has this good life and big family.  When he left the orphange he joined the Army.  He made friends with a man in Deridder and would travel to Louisiana with him.  He later met my grandmother and they were married.  Her family was the first real family he ever had.  He had gained a mother, father, and 3 sisters.  They had 3 children and later 6 grandchildren.  By the time he was 60 he had met his sister, 2 of his brothers, and his mother.  They were able to spend several years getting to know one another.  She lived until her late 90′s.  What a full life she had and such a blessing for him and her both to meet again in their lifetime.  I thought it was great that we all got to meet his family once when we traveled to North Carolina to my great Aunt and Uncle’s anniversary party.  One neat thing is that one of my great aunts is also a photography.  Pretty cool, don’t you think!  Anyway, here are some photographs I’ve gathered from his days at the orphange, when my grandparents dated and married, and current one’s I’ve taken.  Hope you enjoy them b/c I had fun shooting them.

I’ve been sick!

Sorry I haven’t posted anything new lately but I have been sick a week with the flu.  I am still not well, but thought I’d drop a line before going to bed.  I just got back to school today.  The doctor wanted me to stay home a little longer but I needed to return to school.  We started the new semester last Wednesday.  I have not been able to edit anything due to I have been in bed for days.  Hope to get something up soon.  Working on graduation for viewing and bridals for printing.  Will be home for a e-session Saturday and hope to shoot a new model on Sunday, for class project.

Senior session with Brandi.

Yesterday I did a Senior session with Brandi.  I  got to test out my new wireless remote {(so much easier than carrying around that 15 foot sync cord).  It worked great.  Here are a few I got to edit last night.  I’ve know Brandi since she was a little girl.  Her mom was my English teacher in High School.  Seeing her graduating makes me feel so old…..  Congrats Brandi on your upcoming graduation.

Just bumming around

Just hanging out at home working on the website.  I have just got to get it up.  Have way to much trouble deciding on what I want to post on it.  I guess I will start small and build from there.  Tomorrow will be a busy day.  I have a Senior session.  Will try to post at least a sneak peek tomorrow night.  Also having a meeting tomorrow morning with a bride that I will be doing the wedding in October.  I am really excited to get things set up for her bridals and E=session.  Well let me get back to work.  Posting one of my favorite photos that I have shot.

Nellie’s Bridals

My friend Nellie has been married for a while.  We have been talking about taking some bridals for a long time.  She didn’t have bridals done prior to her wedding.  We decided to set out and shoot her bridals one afternoon.  It was really cold but she tolerated it well.  When possible we kept her wrapped in a jacket.  It was really fun and I tried some new places and some new lighting techniques.  Here are a few of my favorites.  Thanks for letting me shoot your bridals Nellie!
