E. Newborns

Two post in one day.  That has to be a record for me.  Anyway, here is another Lifestyle Newborn session I shot last week.  These images are rather sentimental to me though.  This little one is like family.  Her mom and I have been friends since 4th grade.  We grew up together attending the same church and same school.  We graduated together and were part of a group of 4 girls who were best of friends.  I feel so honored that she would allow me to document and share in this time of her life.  I plan to follow baby E. for the first year of her life and document the milestones as she grows and develops into a precious little toddler.  Already I can see so much of her mom in her when she gets that pensive look on her face.  Investigating the world around her.  I can just see her little mind working.  Just like her mom when we were young.  Thanks to D. and A.  Ya’ll did good.  She is adorable.

This little dress was made by her great grandmother.  Such talent.  Just had to photograph in it so it could be a keepsake.

Lifestyle Photography

I shot another precious newborn yesterday.  I am really enjoying shooting Children and Maternity.  God has blessed me by allowing me to meet some wonderful people while photographing children this summer.  Most have been new parents and are so excited.  I feel so privileged to be able to document such a wonderful time in the lives of these new little families.  It is even a greater privilege to document the first year of a child’s life.   To provide memories of the different milestones and capture the individuality of a child as he/she begins to develop into the person that God has designed them to be.

I love the way that shooting newborns allows a slower pace.  We can stop and rest, change the baby, feed the baby, or just let mom or dad hold and cuddle their little bundle of joy.  When processing images I realized how blessed I am to witness the interaction between parent and child.  To be able to document the love that a parent has for their new little baby is such an honor.  To share in one of the happiest times in a person’s life is one of the best perks of this career.  That is why I’m so passionate about what I do.  It is such an honor each time a client request that I be present to celebrate the things that are the most memorable to their lives.

When shooting a bride and groom it is wonderful to document the love, excitement, and passion between the couple, but to  capture the love and tenderness in a new little family can sometimes overwhelm you.  That is what I love about Lifestyle Photography.  I don’t just take photos, but I get to capture these precious moments in time.  I get to freeze the twinkle in the eye of a mother whose heart is bursting with love for this little person who needs her so much.  To freeze a frame as a new baby holds and clings to the finger of his/her father which is the strong tower they will cling to as he/she grows up.  Children are such a wonderful gift from God and I’m so blessed that God has given me a talent to provide parents with such wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.  I love my job.

Below is a sneak peak from yesterday’s session.

Family Session

A few weeks ago I shot a photo session in Gonzales.  Found a great new location.  The weather was terrible.  Huge thunderstorm, but they were troopers.  They were all so cute.  The little one was so absolutely precious.  Each one of the kids individual personalities were so different.  Hope you like them.  Leave comments, all us photographers love them.

Baby Gage

So, it has been a long time since I’ve blogged. I need to commit to blogging everyday even it is just a written entry and a photograph I’ve shot in the past. School is starting so I’ll have to see how that goes first. Anyway, I shot Baby Gage’s newborn images about 1 month ago. He is so handsome and sweet. He loves the Lullabye song. Everytime we played it on his mobile he would just relax and take a nap. His mom Ashley is a friend of mine from La Tech. She was in my photography classes when I first started. I fell so honored she chose me to shoot Gage’s first photos. What a privilege for me. Thanks Ashley. We mixed up the style a little during this session. I did some lifestyle shots, but also did some with a studio feel. Gage’s dad is a big hunter so we used the camouflage backdrop as well as the comforter set his dad picked out as backdrops. Hope you like the images. Leave comments, I love them.

We started with images of Gage and Mom.  She loves being outdoors, so we had to catch a few outside.  After awhile it got too hot for Gage and we went inside.

Love it when babies laugh and smile in their sleep.  Makes me think they are having “Sweet Dreams.”
