Jamie and Shawn Married

I feel so blessed to have been able to share in Jamie and Shawn’s wedding.  They are both such great people and I had so much fun getting to know them.  I took my first trip to the beach when we went to Orange Beach to shoot their engagement photographs.  We had a wonderful time and their images were beautiful.  You can view the engagement post here.  The wedding was a blast and I feel priviledged that I got to shoot a Methodist/Jewish ceremony so early in my career.  Both ceremonies were beautiful.  Congrats to both of you and thank you for letting me be part of your special day.

Anticipation

Just a little pre-wedding fun.  The wedding party was so much fun to photograph.  The guys were so funny and made me laugh so much.  They were game to try anything.

The flower girl was so cute.  We were able to sneak off and get of few of her and the bride alone.

Jamie looked beautiful in her dress.  I loved it the first time I saw it when we took her bridals.  The church had this lovely stained glass window and I just had to use it in her images.

Waiting for the bride.  She looks so beautiful.

Man and Wife.  The kiss is always so romantic.

Mr. and Mrs. Shawn Folks

Shawn is so sweet.  I love the way he is singing to her.  So Romantic!!!

The Jewish Ceremony

Bride and Daddy were a hit.  They shared a wonderful father daughter dance then busted out jammin.  It was great!

Details.  Everything was so beautiful.

The Band – Colorblind

Everyone had such a great time.

L. Family {Baton Rouge Lifestyle and Children Photographer}

I’m so far behind on blogging.  I had a session with  the L. family before Christmas.  We had so much fun.  I have been knowing S., the little girl, since she was born.  I used to baby sit her when she was little.  It was wonderful seeing them all again.  She has grown into such a pretty little girl.  I got to meet baby brother for the first time the day of the session and he is absolutely precious.  S. likes to dance and play the piano.  I was able to have time alone with her and get some images of her doing both.  We took some images in front of the Christmas Tree for their Christmas Card and I thought I’d include them too.  Thanks F and M for allowing me to come into your home and spend a wonderful morning with your family.

This was my favorite shot of all of them together.  They were so natural and comfortable in front of the camera.

I love it when baby’s laugh.  Isn’t he adorable

Love this one watching big sister reading to little brother.

This is also one of my favorites.  Just having family fun!

I just love his expression

Sharing SECRETS with Mommy!  It was such a great unexpected capture.

He is so precious.  I was getting ready to shoot my standard feet shot and his little head popped up and I loved it.

Today is the day of LOVE and I’m sitting  on the couch watching love stories because I don’t have a Valentine.  Maybe next year.  Anyways, I have read some wonderful love stories the last few weeks.  I really appreciate all of you that entered.  I gave them all to nice friend of mine who was so kind to chose a Winner for me.  I numbered each story so that he would not know who wrote them and he said that there were some great stories, but one really stood out to him.  Here is their story below.  Congrats to Shelly Varnado.  I will be contacting you to set up your session.  Everyone please keep an eye out for our next give away soon.

My husband and I met in 1987 and became friends, actually best friends.  We met through a mutual friend, whom he was actually dating at the time.  He dated a lot of my friends.  I loved him as a best friend at first but not as a boyfriend…. little did i know that he was dating my friends so that he could always be with me.  We laughed together, cried together and even went places together.  I did not think that I would fall so in love with him.  Watching him date my friends had actually started killing me inside, but i never said anything to him.  One day as we were all out,  Jan 1989, and he took me aside and said ” I want you to be my girlfriend, not anyone else.  I love you and have loved you since the day we met.  If you turn me down now I will never bring it up again or ask you again, its now or never. “  Wow I thought to myself, I could not believe this was happening, I went completely weak in the knees, kissed him, and said yes.   Really to be honest with myself, deep down he was the one I wanted to be with.  I just was so afraid that if we dated it would ruin our friendship.  Well, on that day,  Jan 1989 2 years after we had met we started dating.  We married on August 26, 1989 and it has been a wonderful journey. We have 3 daughters, and we are more in love now than we were so many years ago.  Love is a wonderful gift from God that is not easily broken, if he remains the center of every marriage.

Thx for taking time to read our story,
Shelly

Congrats again Shelly
