Hello Fellow Bloggers,

Sorry its been so long since I’ve last blogged. Things have been crazy in my life lately, but I’m excited that the holiday season is among us! I love this time of year!! Something about being with family and friends warms my heart!:)

I also enjoy watching all the Christmas movies. Gotta love Hallmark Channel movies and ABC family 25 days of Christmas!  My favorite Christmas movies are The Santa Clause Series. Mom and I watch them together every year. It’s a tradition we started a few years back when I left for college. We always watched them when I came home for the week of Christmas.

I am truly excited to be home this year. I’ve missed being with family and friends during the holidays. I’m excited to be able to decorate with my parents this year. I really missed having our 10 feet tree last year. It’s always so beautiful!

Anyway enough about me.. how would you like to see some new work? I know its been a while! I’m trying get back into the swing of things. I have some images from a photo session I did of my friend Hannah. She is a fellow photographer.  We met about 5 yrs ago at La Tech.  She moved to Baton Rouge and gave me call to photograph her maternity session. Needless to say I was thrilled and honored that she would ask me. Check out here work at Photography by Hannah Lugibihl

I just wanted to take time to reflect on the 10th Anniversary of a day none of us will ever forget. I know I was in High School on that dreaded day and when I reflect upon it I’m not sure I really understood the ramifications of it. I don’t think I ever thought that 10 years later we would still be fighting a War that began all those years ago. I surely never thought it would take 10 years to catch the man responsible for taking all those lives that day. Over these last 10 years I have had friends who have fought for our freedom in this war and have met many more who have been personally been touched by it. Over the last year I have met many of our service men and women who have fought for our country over many decades and I have learned the true meaning of sacrifice through their stories. I am grateful for that.

Not let us take time to remember, grieve, and express gratitude to those who have demonstrated heroism. We should always live in honor and be grateful for the country we live in as well as the freedoms that been granted to us.

Always remember the Words of God in 2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

May God Bless America

A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege to photograph a fellow photographers precious little girls. Check out Hera’s Photography to see her work. It was definitely a hot day but the girls were great and hung with me. It had been a while since I had a done a session in downtown Denham Springs so we walked around a little and were able to capture some nice images. It was also fun hanging with my friend Michelle. Thanks to you and your girls for such a fun session. They are so cute.

I love these railroad tracks.  We did lose some of the balloons in during the session though.

Love this one. Came out just like I wanted. I can see this in a gallery or something like Sun Magazine.

Must have been a really good lollipop.

So Cute!

I had been wanting to use my Brownie as a prop. I thought this was the perfect opportunity, since their mom is a photographer.

If you would like photographs of your children that are unique and different I would be glad to shoot them and your family.  You can reach me at the contact link above or call me at 225-328-1042 or email me at  I am still  booking portraits, children, families, maternity, and lifestyle for 2011 and 2012.  I would be glad to meet with you and discuss pre-set packages with you or design something that meets your every need.

Katie and I met several years ago when I started college. We attended RPCC in Sorrento together. Over the years we have become such good friends. Both her and her son Kole are like family to me. I was so excited when we decided that I would photograph her bridals. She looked so beautiful in her dress and it was wonderful to see her glowing.

I  recently met Jared because I have been living in Ruston for the last year. When I moved back we all went to dinner and I felt like I was seeing an old friend. Katie had told me so much about him. Jared, it was so nice meeting you and I really had a nice time. We will all have to get together again soon.

Katie chose to have her bridals taken at the Old Governor’s Mansion in Baton Rouge, LA. I’ve never done a bridal session there and I thought the Mansion was absolutely beautiful. The staircase is gorgeous. I was really glad she had decided to take her images inside because we were having one of those wonderful South Louisiana afternoon thunderstorms that just would not quit. We tried to get a few photos in front of the Mansion but the wind was howling and the rain was pouring down. We plan to do some after wedding bridals or a newlywed session when the weather cools down a little. Hope to get some great shots using natural light.

We didn’t let the rain stop us though and we had a great time at the session. Her mother and her close friend Katie Wilson came to the session and they were such a big help. Thanks to both of you for your assistance.

The wedding was last week 8/12/11 and Katie has been on her honeymoon. I thought I’d wait til she got back to post this blog. I wanted her to be able to see it when everyone else does.

Katie, the wedding was beautiful and I’m so glad for you and Jared. Ya’ll make such a cute couple and it is great seeing you so happy. I can’t wait to see the wedding photos. I know they will be great.

Love you and thanks for allowing me to document one of the most important times in your life.

In the month of June I hosted a recipe contest. The winner received a $25 gift card from Target. Thanks to all the wonderful people who entered. All the recipes were great and those that I did not get to try I can’t wait til I have time to cook them. As most of you who know me I’m always up for cooking. Anyways I chose the winner on taste and creativity.

THE WINNER IS T. J. SHUFLIN who is a photographer from Pineville, LA.   Check out his website.  I love his work. He sent me a video of a recipe for “Coffee Can Chicken.”  Jacque Sanders Murphy (a photographer friend of his) receives all the credit for doing the professional video, editing, voice-over, etc., and her husband Sean gets the credit for his “starring role” in the video. I’m a fan of Rotisserie Chicken and expected this to be similar to it, but this was the most tender chicken I have ever eaten.  Of course, I had to do some hard labor before I began cooking it, but it was worth it. Definitely not like just throwing it in the oven and cooking.

I am featuring a copy of the video on the blog for you all to watch. Thanks to Jacque Sanders Murphy and her husband Sean for the great video. I’d advice all viewers to try this recipe because it is well worth it.

Congrats T. J.! Enjoy shopping at Target!
