{Baton Rouge Photographer} Sneak Peek

Today I went down to Rosedown Plantation and did a session.  I have shot there before but today I spent time exploring new areas I had never seen before.   I was able to find some really great places to shoot.  There was so much more I really wanted to do but the rain put a damper on it all.  I looked over them when I got home, like I always do, and decided to edit a few for the blog.  These are just a few of my favorites.  More to come and I’ll let you know who everyone is and about some great vendors who helped make the shoot possible.

Love this one of Amber

If you would like Wedding Portraits that are unique and different I would be glad to shoot your Wedding.  You can reach me at the contact link above or call me at 225-328-1042.  I am still  booking weddings for 2010 and 2011.  I would be glad to meet with you and discuss pre-set packages with you or design something that meets your every need.  I am also be booking in the Monroe, West Monroe, and Ruston Area.

{Baton Rouge Wedding Photographer} – Patricia’s Bridals

The wedding was Friday and now I finally get to post the bridals.  I have been sitting on these for months waiting for this post.  This post is so special to me because Trisha is family.  She looked so beautiful on this day and we had so much fun shooting these images.  Trisha and I had worked together before because she has modeled for me numerous times for school projects so she was quite comfortable in front of the camera.  The best thing though is being able to document such an important moment in Trisha’s life.  We started our day at Rosedown Plantation in St. Francisville.  I had shot there before but during a different time of the year.  Last time I was restricted from wandering the grounds or going up to the house.  This time I made some great finds.  For the second part of the images we went to The Glynns, also in St. Francisville.  I had shot there before also and really love the place.  Hope to shot there again sometime.  Maybe do a workshop or something.  I know this post may be long so you may want to grab a drink before you get started.  I was just so pleased with how all of these images came out.  Thanks Trisha for letting me be a part of this important day.  I had a blast!

This was the image Trish chose to display at the wedding.  It was also my favorite.  My mom gave her a custom framed 20×24 Canvas print for a wedding gift.   It was beautiful.

I love this fountain.  I shot here before and it always makes for great images!  Love how this shot really displays the dress.  Great choice from David’s Bridals.

Always have to get that one shot with the veil.  My Aunt made it.  She really did a great job.

This location was a golden find.  I loved all the images.

My uncle found this old buggy and we had to capture a few images using it.

Next we boogied on down to The Glynns.  Really got some great images there also.

This series of images on the balcony were some of my favorites.  Loved the lighting and the colors.

Got some great shots at the barn also.

{Baton Rouge Wedding Photographer} Tricia and Peter Engaged

I’m so far behind in blogging.  The spring semester really kept me busy.  Since the wedding is Friday I figured I needed to get these images up.  Peter and Tricia are living in New Orleans and chose to do their engagements there.  I’m always up for a road trip and was so excited.  There was some kind of festival going on there the weekend we shot so it was really crowded.   We were very limited to where we could shoot.  We shot some near their little duplex, which is absolutely precious, City Park, and Piazza d’Italia.

This wedding is really special to me because Tricia is my cousin.  I wish them both the best and thank you both for letting me document this special time in your lives.

This is really one of my favorites.  My Aunt Mona chose an 8X10 of this one for the registration table.

This was taken in front of their new little duplex.  I love it.   It really has this old New Orleans french style to it.  High ceilings, wood floors, fire places(now closed off).  Flowers in the front yard.  Ya’ll did good.

I will also be booking in the Monroe, West Monroe, and Ruston Area this fall.

I will be posting Tricia’s bridals Friday or Saturday.  They really came out beautiful.  We took them at Rosedown and The Glynns in St. Francisville.  Can’t wait for you all to see them.

Drumroll Please!!!! {Baton Rouge Wedding Photographer}

Today is the day of LOVE and I’m sitting  on the couch watching love stories because I don’t have a Valentine.  Maybe next year.  Anyways, I have read some wonderful love stories the last few weeks.  I really appreciate all of you that entered.  I gave them all to nice friend of mine who was so kind to chose a Winner for me.  I numbered each story so that he would not know who wrote them and he said that there were some great stories, but one really stood out to him.  Here is their story below.  Congrats to Shelly Varnado.  I will be contacting you to set up your session.  Everyone please keep an eye out for our next give away soon.

My husband and I met in 1987 and became friends, actually best friends.  We met through a mutual friend, whom he was actually dating at the time.  He dated a lot of my friends.  I loved him as a best friend at first but not as a boyfriend…. little did i know that he was dating my friends so that he could always be with me.  We laughed together, cried together and even went places together.  I did not think that I would fall so in love with him.  Watching him date my friends had actually started killing me inside, but i never said anything to him.  One day as we were all out,  Jan 1989, and he took me aside and said ” I want you to be my girlfriend, not anyone else.  I love you and have loved you since the day we met.  If you turn me down now I will never bring it up again or ask you again, its now or never. “  Wow I thought to myself, I could not believe this was happening, I went completely weak in the knees, kissed him, and said yes.   Really to be honest with myself, deep down he was the one I wanted to be with.  I just was so afraid that if we dated it would ruin our friendship.  Well, on that day,  Jan 1989 2 years after we had met we started dating.  We married on August 26, 1989 and it has been a wonderful journey. We have 3 daughters, and we are more in love now than we were so many years ago.  Love is a wonderful gift from God that is not easily broken, if he remains the center of every marriage.

Thx for taking time to read our story,
Shelly

Congrats again Shelly

Thank You {Baton Rouge Photographer}

I just wanted to say Thank You to eveyone who supported me in 2009.  This was a new adventure for me and I have had some of the best clients.  I have met so many wonderful people and you were all so gracious to invite me into your homes and make me feel welcome.  I have enjoyed and am still enjoying watching your new precious babies grow into adorable toddlers.  Thanks for sharing your stories and helping me to capture the essence of your families.  Thanks to my brides and grooms for allowing me to participate in the celebration of one of the most important days of your life.  I have found great friendships working with you.  To the Seniors, I enjoyed your energy and excitement.  Graduation is such a exciting time and I wish you all the best in your endeavors.  To my models, I want to say thank you for your time.  You all did great jobs and were always so beautiful.  It was always a blast working with you and hopefully some of us will get to work together again someday.  Again, I want to thank all of you and am looking forward to 2010

Oh, I can’t forget to thank Pictage for the wonderful workshop I attended in November.  I was so blessed to attend such a great Conference and meet some of my most favorite photographers so early in my career. I got to work with some of the best photographers in the country and that was such a priviledge.  Thanks to all of you for your time, your tips and ideas, your workshops, and your modeling.

Thanks,

Mandi Nikole

Thought I’d add an image for fun.  This is Peter and Patricia. They modeled for me last Spring for one of my Projects.  I’ll be shooting their Wedding in June so you will be seeing them again soon.  They are great and I can’t wait til we get started on their engagements session and Tricia’s Bridals.
